What Op ASCEND can do for you

If you’ve left service for more than 2 years, Op ASCEND can provide you with free, enduring employment support from the Forces Employment Charity.

Whether you’re looking for a career change or new employment opportunities, Op ASCEND is a service that connects you with veteran-friendly employers and provides expert tips, support and advice.

The service is free to use and open to all veterans of the UK armed forces.

If you’re still within 2 years of leaving service, you can get free, expert support from the Career Transition Partnership.

How it works

Once you’ve signed up, an advisor will be in touch to discuss your circumstances.

How you wish to engage from then is up to you. And whatever you choose, the service is free.

Support includes:

✅ One-to-one support from trained specialists

✅ Help with job searches, CVs and interview preparation

✅ Introductions to potential employers

✅ Sector-focused events

✅ Self-help guides so you can go at your own pace

✅ Telephone and online support

Join the scheme at any point in your career and choose the type of support that works for you.

What you’ll need

When signing up, you’ll need to confirm your:

  • name
  • service (and service number)
  • rank
  • enlistment date
  • discharge date

If you can’t remember your exact enlistment or discharge dates, enter the closest date or month.
