Get career support as a veteran

Find out how Op ASCEND can be your launchpad to new career opportunities.

What Op ASCEND can do for you

What you’ve learned in the armed forces is invaluable to any employer.

Op ASCEND is a service that connects you with veteran-friendly employers and provides expert tips, support and advice to introduce you to new career opportunities.

The service is free to use and open to all veterans of the UK armed forces, as well as their families.

How it works

Once you have signed up, an advisor will be in touch to discuss your circumstances.

How you wish to engage from then is up to you. And whatever you choose, the service is free.

Trained specialists can offer one-to-one support. They can help you with job searches, CV-writing, interview preparation and introductions to potential employers. They also offer self-help guides so you can go at your own pace if preferred.

If this route is not for you, attending sector-focused events can connect you with employers who are also signed up to the scheme.

The choice is yours. Join the scheme at any point in your career and engage as little or as much as you like.

What you’ll need

When signing up, you’ll need to confirm your:

  • name
  • service (and service number)
  • rank
  • enlistment date
  • discharge date

If you can’t remember your exact enlistment or discharge dates, enter the closest date or month.
